Course Description: The AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Course includes the most recent guidelines and covers core material such as adult, child, and infant CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and the use of a bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, automated external defibrillation, and the use of barrier devices for all ages. Students must pass a skills test and written exam in order to qualify for a course completion card. The card is valid for 2 years.
Target Audience: Those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists, who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR/AED course. This course is also appropriate for Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors.
